Scholarship Application

The Boomer Esiason Foundation’s General Academic Scholarships assist CF patients pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Grants are awarded quarterly on the basis of demonstrated need and academic accomplishment. They are made directly to the academic institution to assist in covering the cost of tuition and fees. This scholarship is for one year only.

Overview of the Scholarship Program

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated need and academic accomplishment. BEF’s target is to grant 10 to 15 scholarships each year to CF patients with academic goals. Grants will be made directly to the academic institution to assist in covering the cost of tuition and fees.

The BEF Scholarship Program offers grants ranging from $500 to $2,500.

Scholarships will be awarded quarterly (March-June-September-December).

Candidate Evaluation

The nominee's scholastic ability, character, leadership potential, service to the community, and need for financial assistance, will be considered by the BEF Scholarship Program committee when selecting recipients. Applicants are required to provide: a completed application; an essay; a recent photo; a letter from physician (on letterhead) confirming CF diagnosis and therapy routine; transcript (high school, college and/or graduate school);letter of acceptance from academic institution; detailed breakdown of tuition costs from academic institution; and a W2 form for both parents. Once the candidates have been selected as potential scholarship recipients, they will be granted a phone interview with a committee member.
